Dr Kevin G Vernon

Dr Kevin G VernonBM MRCGP DRCOG 1994 Southampton

Qualified from Southampton in 1994 and trained locally in QA until 2000, when I joined the practice as a registrar. I joined as a partner two years later and mainly looked after the patients at our Branch surgery in Chichester Road until the two surgeries merged when Lake Road was redeveloped. I enjoy all aspects of general practice. I am married to Sue and have one daughter, Emma. Outside of work I enjoy walking with a playful (i.e. misbehaving) dog called Skye.

I completed my medical degree in Nottingham and then went on to General Practice training in Derbyshire before returning to the area. I am originally from the Portsmouth area and my family has had links to Portsmouth for many years. My main interest outside of work currently is building my house. This is quite a large project though I also enjoy playing badminton and, when time allows, landscape photography. Driving is another hobby, though is taking a backseat currently until I finish self-building.
Dr Caroline Dunn

I qualified in London in 2008 and then worked for a while in London and Chichester. I did my general practice training in Portsmouth which is where I wanted to settle. Lake Road has the benefits of looking after a broad population from all over the island as well as operating named patient lists to help provide continuity of care. I am a trainer for the GP registrars who come to the surgery. At home my husband and I have a young daughter who keeps us on our toes .

I qualified from Southampton University in 2008 and, after a few years working in Dorset, undertook my GP training in Portsmouth thereafter. Since qualifying as a GP in 2013, I have worked in several locations along the A3 and am now settled here at Lake Road Practice since January 2020. I am a keen ‘generalist’ and happy with the broad scope of work that general practice provides. In addition, I am the practice Research Lead, recruiting patients onto clinical trials from the Wessex Research Network. Dr Andrew W Scott-Brown

Dr Andrew W Scott-BrownMBCHB MRCGP DRCOG DOCCMed 1983 Aberdeen

A proud Scot, but born in Cornwall, I qualified from Aberdeen University in 1983 and served in the Royal Navy, mostly in Submarines but also Hong Kong. On leaving the service it seemed natural to want to make our family home in Portsmouth and I was delighted to join the practice in 1992. My special interests are in Dermatology and Occupational Medicine, particularly in seafarers and offshore workers. I am married to Mary, a specialist in Elderly Mental Health and have two children, one a fifth Year Medical Student at Oxford and the other studying Science in Cambridge. Having had to give up cave diving because of injury my main hobbies are sailing and falling off bicycles! I also serve on the Local Medical Committee representing grass roots GPs in Hampshire in all areas affecting their working lives.
