Wellbeing Service

What problems can the service help with?

Provides support around quit smoking (including starting/stopping e-cigarette use), alcohol reduction and weight management


What problems can’t the service help with?

Do not support clients that are physically dependant on alcohol or require relapse prevention support (Recovery HUB provides this).

They are not specialist dieticians; their support programme is around a balanced diet based on Eat Well guidelines.

Who can use the service?

Service is available to anyone that lives and works in Portsmouth (PO1 – PO6) that meets the following criteria:

– Smoking – 12 years or older – must be a self-reporting smoker

– Weight – 18 years or older – BMI > 30 or 28 with comorbidities or a BMI of 28> for South Asian ethnicity.

– BMI 50> only if part of ICOS referral pathway

– Alcohol – 18 years or older – no signs of physical dependency

How does patient access the service?

There is a Saturday drop in at the Central Library between 10:30 – 12:30.


What can patient expect when they contact service?

The service will explore their holistic support needs, identify how they can help them and signpost them to other services if required.
